ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

Academic Support Center

Established in 2005, the Academic Support Center (ASC) offers academic assistance to students who qualify for special education services. We assist students with learning differences in the general education curriculum of FGR, helping them to reach their full potential as students and responsible members of the community. In collaboration with parents and teachers, the ASC provides an environment that supports students in using their God-given talents to help them achieve academic success.

If the student’s diagnosed disability negatively impacts their ability to access the general education curriculum, they may be considered for the ASC program with required documentation and history of accommodation. Accommodations vary with student needs, and official accommodation plans are regularly updated. The ASC works closely with the counseling department and the entire teaching staff to provide them support.

We are proud of the ASC students and their efforts to be successful learners. They are a gift to our community in their insight and witness to the power of God who strengthens those who hope in Him. As the students meet challenges along their academic path, they grow in perseverance and diligence. We encourage our students to become optimistic learners, independent thinkers, and, most importantly, Disciples of Christ. Father Gabriel Richard High School is a high school of the Diocese of Lansing.
