Our Board

The Board of Trustees is primarily focused on the spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development of the students of Father Gabriel Richard High School (FGR). The Board is tasked with local school planning and policy issues pertaining to the general excellence of Catholic education at FGR, operating in conformity with the policies of the Diocese of Lansing and under the guidance of the Diocesan Office of Catholic Schools and the Superintendent of Schools. The Board, being representative of parents, students, pastors, administration, faculty, staff, partner schools, alumni, benefactors, and other stakeholders,  works closely with the President of the school to formulate local school policies and plans that enable the school to reach its goals. Trustees are appointed by the Bishop for three-year terms. Terms are staggered with some expiring each year.

Board meetings are held monthly during the school year. Members of the FGR community are welcome to attend the open portion of Board of Trustee meetings.

If any member of the community wishes to petition the Board to discuss a particular item, he or she may do so by contacting a member of the Executive Committee at least one month prior to the Board meeting. Please see the Addendum to the Student/Parent Handbook for the Procedure for Petition to Address the Board.
