Retreats

The underclassmen retreats are held off campus at a local parish center.  The retreats run from 8:30am to 4:00pm.  Students are allowed to dress down on their retreat day. On the retreat, students are broken into small groups of 6-8 students and are led by Kairos Leaders/student campus ministers. Lunch is provided.

Freshmen Retreat

“But God shows His love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us…” (Romans 5:8)

THEME:  The underlying Freshmen retreat theme is “High School is a fresh start in my adventure/story with Christ” and is supported on the passage from Romans. What keeps you from believing in God’s Mercy? How do you show God’s Mercy to others in order to bring them into a relationship with Christ?

AGENDA:  Each small group will have a Mercy scripture passage given to them to reflect on and discuss throughout the day. Part of the retreat will be spent in Men’s and Women’s sessions, allowing for students to be taken deeper in their relationship with Christ and with each other.  Confession, Adoration and the Mass will also take place.

Freshmen will hear talks, testimonies and have the chance to share about faith.  Times of praise & worship, personal prayer and fellowship will be provided.

Sophomore Retreat

“Come Follow Me” (Matt. 4:19)

THEME:  The underlying theme is “Remembering the Mercies of God and hearing Him calling my name”. Where have I lost the way in my walk with Christ?  What is He asking of me? How do I live the call God has given me to be a disciple of Christ?  God calls each one of us in a different way. This retreat will give our students an opportunity for an intense encounter with the Risen Lord through Mass and the Sacraments, through prayer and music, through personal testimonies, and faith sharing.

AGENDA:  Each small group will have an Apostle from scripture given to them to reflect on and discuss throughout the day.  Part of the retreat will be spent in Men’s and Women’s sessions, allowing for students to be taken deeper in their relationship with Christ and with each other.  Confession, Adoration and the Mass will also take place.

Sophomores will hear talks, testimonies and have the chance to share about faith.  Times of praise & worship, personal prayer and fellowship will be provided.

Junior Retreat

THEME:  The Junior Class retreat theme is “Build the Kingdom”.   How do you live and realize God’s Kingdom among us now? The retreat focuses on how we can build the kingdom through our actions – living out the Spiritual and Corporal Acts of Mercy.  How can we emulate Christ and continue to build the kingdom, as He once did while He walked the earth? This retreat is an important part of Junior Year as students focus on their class unity and continue to recognize how important our faith community is.  They “retreat” in hopes of growing in their relationship with Christ while getting to know some of their classmates on a more personal level.

AGENDA:  Part of the retreat will be spent in Men’s and Women’s sessions, allowing for students to be taken deeper in their relationship with Christ and with each other.  Confession, Adoration and the Mass will also take place.
Juniors will hear talks, testimonies and have the chance to share about faith.  Times of praise & worship, personal prayer and fellowship will be provided.

INFORMATION:  The Junior Retreat is held off campus at a retreat center. This is an overnight retreat, beginning at 8:30am and concluding the following day at 5:00pm. Meals are provided.

Senior Retreat

The Senior Class retreat theme is “Veni Sancte Spiritus” (Come Holy Spirit). As the culminating retreat of the High School experience, students focus on how the Holy Spirit has been working in their lives and will continue to as they go forth from FGR.

Students are challenged to look back on their faith journey, and are called to embrace and learn from the past as well as let it go so that the Holy Spirit may freely move. Now as a senior, students take time to recognize God’s ever-abiding presence in their life.

DATES

Beginning the Monday after Thanksgiving at 3pm and concluding that Thursday at 8pm.

INFORMATION

The Class Retreat is held off campus at three separate retreat centers. Meals are provided.
