FGR Summer STEM Camp

The 2017 FGR Summer STEM camp is an opportunity for rising 7th and 8th grade students with an interest in science to gain hands on experience with conducting scientific investigations and data analysis in an advanced laboratory setting. Taught by FGR physics teacher Mr. Vincent Burns, this camp will enable students to specifically explore and expand their knowledge of the behavior and properties of gases. Based on a curriculum developed by the University of Notre Dame’s Center for STEM Education, the camp will feature daily experiments with phenomena like collapsing soda cans, the use of digital data collection equipment, collaborative problem-solving projects, and evidence centered discussions. 

The camp will run July 31 – August 4 from 9 AM – 12 PM and the cost is $100 per student. Checks can be made payable to FGRHS can be mailed to or dropped off at FGR.
