Careers at FGR
Guided by the tenets of the Catholic faith and Catholic Intellectual Tradition, Father Gabriel Richard High School seeks to form the next generation of Disciples of Christ. We emphasize development of each student’s God-given gifts and talents and encourage students to discover the means through which God is calling them to serve others.
Father Gabriel Richard High School faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to love God, others, and learning, and to pursue excellence. Our faculty and staff are dedicated individuals who serve as role models for our students, understanding that the education of the whole person is the goal. We welcome candidates who are faithful Catholics with a passionate desire to bring youth into a personal relationship with Christ. Faculty and staff model the Christian life for students by attending Mass and participating in the spiritual life of the school.
Full-time faculty teach five sections of classes and support the admissions and advancement activities of the school with participation in events such as open houses and school auctions. Additionally, faculty serve as club advisors on a voluntary basis and according to their interests. A culture of support for our students encourages attendance at sporting and performing arts events as faculty and staff are able. Novice teachers are provided mentorship from an experienced faculty member and all-faculty professional development activities are scheduled throughout the school year. Each year, the faculty and staff participate in three day-long retreats.
Faculty members also participate in professional development and conferences provided by the Diocese of Lansing.
