Lecture Series: Phoenix from the Ashes: The Sex Abuse Crisis and the Future of the Catholic Church
Father Gabriel Richard High School, along with co-sponsors Ave Maria Radio and Emmaus Health, is pleased to present the 2019 Familiaris Consortio Lecture on March 2, 2019. This year’s event focuses on one of the defining issues in the Church today and is entitled Phoenix from the Ashes: The Sex Abuse Crisis and the Future of the Catholic Church. Keynote speaker Janet E. Smith will present her talk “The Sex Abuse Crisis as an Opportunity for Evangelization.” She will be joined by educational and medical professionals to discuss how parents along with the school can help form confident disciples of Christ amidst the failure of those whom He has especially called to teach, govern, and sanctify; how the claims of the Church are still valid and true; and how the lay faithful can help solve this problem. The event will be held at the Michigan League 911 N. University, Ann Arbor, 48109 from 9:00 am – 12 noon on Saturday, March 2, 2019. Admission is $10 per person and includes a continental breakfast.
